I sit here, at my desk, in my dorm room, lit by overhead florescent lights, listening to the rain pounding against the window. This is my second day back and I have yet to see the sun. I guess it did not want to come back here either. Now, I must stop myself to tell you that even though I really did not want to come back, I'm not completely miserable here. II had a good day yesterday sitting though class orientations, meeting new people and catching up on sleep. This semester looks like I will enjoy most of my classes! I'm especially looking forward to Publication Tools and Techniques (Photoshop and InDesign).
Before I dive into the details about my trip out here (which started at 8:00am and ended at 11:30pm), I want to share some of the highlights from my Christmas break. And what better way to share experiences than through pictures! It seems kinda silly, I know, especially if you are friends with my on Facebook or MySpace, because you can see all of these pictures there too! I'll try my best to only pick my favorites!
It all started with the Proctor Family Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa's house the Sunday before Christmas. Next was a family walk through Sonora's downtown on Christmas Eve...
None of the shops were open except for "Dorthy's Christmas Shop" (well, I'm not sure if that's the name... it's someone's Christmas Shop)
On Christmas Day, we headed down to southern California to visit family...
And Grandpa took Drew and I to a beautiful habitat to take some pictures! (Drew worked on his modeling).
I haven't done anything to digitally enhance the colors on any of these pictures, by the way!
If you know anything about the Macomber family, you should know about waffle night. Every Friday night, we have waffles for supper. The Friday after Christmas, we had the whole gang together (almost everyone) and it was chaos.... in a good way.
Another thing that I always enjoy doing, is playing dress-up. However, I have moved into the role of the photographer while my younger cousins take the roles of the models. This time we did a night photo shoot. I wish I could say that it was intentional; unfortunately,
Rachel, Lauren and Maddi are
all beautiful girls! I had so much fun taking their pictures! If I could upload all of them, I would. Unfortunately, I don't have the room on this to upload all of them...
We headed back home to bring in the New Year. This included setting off some fireworks at Greg's house and a party at the Palmer's house.
Happy 2009 everyone! Now that I'm almost all up-to-date, I'm going to get some supper. I'll tell you about my trip here either tonight or tomorrow...
