Masquerading Around

So far this semester has brought many different adventurous weekends! Last weekend included a Friday night trip to the hospital to visit my friend Ryan who got a concussion while practicing for a play, a Saturday night cooking session and a viewing of the Warren Miller ski film Children of Winter.

This weekend, God blessed us with a break from the below-freezing temps with a sunny day in the 60s! And we made sure to take full advantage of it! I must admit that I went a bit photo crazy--387 pics in one day--but it was worth it! After a wonderful message at church by Wintly Phipps, a group of us hit the Greenway!

Our group for this outing included 7 girls and Ryan. I don't think he had a complaint!

Christine and Anne learned how to longboard. Karalee was teaching ballet too!

The lighting was AMAZING!!!!!!!!

The next part of our adventure took us to Panera Bread for supper and traded Ryan for Marcus (but still included 7 girls). Now, I think everyone has had their names miss-spelled sometime, either in a program or on a coffee cup. I sure have. Once, my name appeared in the church bulletin as "Jolly" and I used to think that it couldn't get worse than that. Boy was I wrong. I looked at my receipt and noticed that my name was now "Hault". Who in their right mind would name their kid "Hault"? And how do you get "Hault" from "Hollie"?

After supper, we went to a few stores to find things to make masks!

Notice Danika's nose coming out of the eye hole!
Marcus and Danika trying on glasses...And our mess of creativity.

Dankia: when she's in costume, her name is Shanaynay. So our next adventure of the night took us outside, running around wearing masks just for the fun of it. And oh! Did we get some strange looks! Also, we decided to trade Marcus for Theo.

The girls!

Rebecca and Danika had so much fun wearing our masks that they decided to start they own gang and insisted to be referred to as "Rosaqita" and "Shanaynay"...

We all found ourselves very thirsty from our masquerading and decided to head to sonic to order waters because none of us had our wallets with us. Unfortunately, Sonic was closed for cleaning and nothing else was open at 12:30 am in Collegedale and curfew was at 1:00.

It felt great to be spontaneous and do silly things. We didn't really "do" anything but it was still so much fun! We want to do it again and perhaps next time head to downtown!!
