Today, I am exhausted. I wasn't up late last night, and I didn't get too much sleep--I'm just worn out. And as I look to what I have to accomplish today and the rest of this week, I honestly wonder if I am going to make it. Perhaps that is one of the reasons the timing of today's excerpt from Jesus Calling is perfect.
2 Corinthians 12:9 says "Each time He said, 'My gracious power is all you need. My power works best in your weakness.'" This is a direct response from God to Paul, who is asking God to take away the weakness in his life--to take away whatever is prohibiting him from being effective and succeeding. God response is powerful: His power is everything--it works the best in our weakness.
My weakness right now is exhaustion and procrastination (and I could throw in a bit of seniorities). I have no strength to get through everything I need to accomplish today or this week. That is why I was amazed with today's reading.
It's now noon, and I still have yet to be productive ; however, I know to face everything with a renewed sense of purpose--I am in the best position to see God's power work.
